Remembering Ryan White: Part 1

It was twenty years ago this week that a young Indiana boy named Ryan White died of AIDS.  His struggle with the disease, contracted after a tainted blood transfusion, was a very long and very public one.  Ryan White’s plight drew international attention when he and his family fought for his right to continue attending school, after being expelled from the Western School Corporation outside Kokomo.  This week, Indiana Public Broadcasting is talking to the people who knew Ryan White best.  In this interview, Marianne Holland speaks with Tony Cook, the high school principal who enrolled Ryan in his school, after his family decided to move away from the harassment in their own community.
