Top negotiators gives signs of consensus

A bill that would allow flexibility in education spending for Indiana schools, came to a screeching halt last week over what Representative Greg Porter of Indianapolis, says was contention over as few as eight words.

But now it appears the bill may have cleared the final hurdles as top negotiators for the democrats and republicans may have signaled their intent to sign the conference committee.

Speaking with reporters, Porter said he was optimistic. He continued by saying the bill isn’t perfect, but it is the best thing for the children of Indiana.
