Daniels Take on Session So Far

January 15, 2010

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels says there’s already been progress on important issues during the 2010 legislative session. Specifically, he says, there’s been progress with ethics reform and local government restructuring.

“This is our third short session, any tradition that those were do nothing sessions ought to be left behind, that we can’t skip a year. My impression is that even through this is a short off year session, that some really important work is going on and may well be completed.”

Daniels says it’s the results that matter most during the legislative session. It’s an election year and he says if there is political calculation behind the progress of the session then it’s due to Indiana voters calling for continued reform.
