School Consolidation One of Issues Lawmakers Consider This Session

Facing a serious revenue shortfall, Indiana is trying to find ways to make up or cut nearly 800-million dollars from the state budget over the next two years. In his state of the state address earlier in January, Governor Mitch Daniels proposed a plan to consolidate school districts with less than one thousand students into larger districts. This plan is prompting some educators and lawmakers to question if this plan is the best option. From member station WNIN in Evansivlle, Kenton McDonald reports.
