Plan Could Leverage Federal Money for Child Welfare Costs

The Senate Tax and Fiscal Policy Committee today took testimony on legislation reflecting Governor Mitch Daniels’ property tax restructuring plan.  One component of that plan would have the state to assume the cost of local child welfare levies.  But as Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Marianne Holland reports, that could mean changes beyond simply who is paying the bill.
